Storytelling for Kids of All Ages

“Telling a story to kids, grandkids, or other little friends is the most powerful way to create intimacy with them.” — Jake Warner

At Tall Tales Audio, we tell enchanting stories beloved by kids of all ages. It’s a place where teddy bears dance, kids fly, and hedgehogs jump over the moon. And even more important, it’s a spot where children will experience the magic of oral storytelling and the close family bonds it creates.

And of course, when they hear a wonderful story, kids love to participate as well as listen. That’s why we encourage kids, and the adults they love, to create their own unique tales. So join us as we bring the magic of storytelling to your family.

Librarians Say…

From The School Library Journal:

“One of the features we appreciate a lot is the emphasis on family storytelling. Their website has tips for parents who are interested in creating their own stories. … We urge you to go listen to the stories that are available on their website!”

Cynthia Kirkeby

“Warner narrates the tales, employing just enough vocal variation to distinguish between the characters. … Warner is a terrific storyteller, and this is a great listen.”

Amy Joslyn
Fairport Public Library, NY

“Jake Warner tells his original story in an expressive, lively manner, creating different voices for the characters and incorporating sound effects. Librarians and teachers can use his tales to promote the art and fun of storytelling to a younger generation.”

About Jake

Sitting around a fire a very long time ago, our ancestors began to tell stories. Whether to delight the kids or scare off demons, storytelling quickly became part of the daily ritual.

Demons or not, 200,000 years later, the power of a riveting story is undiminished.

Master storyteller Jake Warner stakes that claim with his own stories. Tall Tales Audio has delighted generations of kids, with a crime-fighting dog, a kid sheriff and a dinosaur desperate to be a moose. Jake champions storytellers everywhere, occasionally teaching workshops for grandparents, parents and fun-loving adults of any stripe.

Jake lives in Berkeley, California. In another life, he co-founded Nolo Press, America’s leading source of consumer law information. He is also the author of four novels, most recently The Tie-Dye Murders: Peace, Love & Death in ’60s Berkeley (2026).
